YMCA Camp Foss’s Leadership in Training program creates empowered leaders who are prepared to become Counselors In Training.
Through my creation of the program, I focused on the progression of growing as a leader inspired by the Core values of the Y: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Caring and Courage.

The program lasted for 2 weeks with three hours of instructional periods a day. Each morning, we began listening to a chapter of Wolf Pack by Abby Wambach and used the themes of the chapters to guide our discussions for the day. Each instructional period aimed to provide a combination of discussions, activities, and reflection.

As the Hobbies Director, I was in charge of running the hobbies department, which entailed the programming of Arts and Crafts, Performing Arts, High Ropes, Archery, Tomahawk Throwing, and Boating. I led my staff of 10 people through the scheduling of morning instructional periods then, created 8-10 unique activities for campers to sign up for each afternoon
